WeWork India announced that it has teamed up with Uber to provide a commuting service for more than 70,000 of its members across 57 locations in eight cities.
The new initiative is an effort to improve accessibility to flexible workspaces across the country. By providing members access to travel benefits, the program aims to meet the changing demands of the workforce, focusing on greater convenience and adaptability in the future of work.
WeWork India announced that members can now choose from a range of Uber services — including premium and economy options that are specifically tailored to their individual needs. The travel benefits program, offered through Uber for Business, includes access to Uber Reserve, Uber Rentals, Uber Intercity, and Uber Shuttle, as well as exclusive premium rides like Business Premier.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Uber to simplify and enhance the daily journeys of our members,” Raghuvinder Singh Pathania, Head of Community & Operations at WeWork India stated. “By integrating Uber’s advanced mobility solutions with our flexible workspaces, we are not only making commuting more seamless but also reinforcing our commitment to a sustainable and safe work environment.”
WeWork India reports that it has over 8 million square feet of assets and achieved profitability since 2021. In February, the company reported year-over-year revenue increase of 67.58% for the fiscal year ending March 2023.
These kinds of collaborations are becoming more commonplace across the coworking sector. As remote and hybrid work models gain popularity, companies that cater to business travelers are forming unique offerings through partnerships with flexible workspace providers.
Recently, Delta Air Lines announced a partnership with Industrious to offer business travelers access to its coworking locations worldwide.
In March, Virgin Voyages also announced a “work from cruise” offering, specifically targeting the rise of digital nomads globally.
