Remote Workers May Have More Traveling Opportunities In 2022

A recent poll from AmEx shows that respondents are eager to take more vacation time this year than they did in 2021, but this might pose problems for those returning to the office.

Will travel increase? If so, will workers take a break or be part of the growing “bleisure” community?

The number of remote workers is expected to accelerate in 2022. Simultaneously, despite rising Covid cases, many areas have relaxed their travel restrictions.

While this is expected to make travel easier for knowledge workers, frontline and service professionals may not be so lucky. Plus, international borders can reimpose restrictions at any point as the situation around the pandemic fluctuates.

For employees that can work remotely, now may be a good time to make travel plans. However, there are factors to consider when working while traveling.

There are ways to make bleisure travel possible, such as utilizing airport lounges and in-flight Wi-Fi to knock out tasks. Additionally, in case of poor internet connection, workers can download any necessary documents or tools in order to have offline access.

More importantly, professionals should still set aside time to unplug from work. Although traveling while working can be exciting, clocking out and taking a break is crucial for employee mental health.
