Google will require employees to return to some of its offices in Asia Pacific, the UK, and the US starting April 4.
According to an internal email, employees in the San Francisco Bay Area were informed that the company “can officially begin the transition to the hybrid work week” due to falling cases and advancements in Covid-19 prevention and treatment.
The technology world has widely started ushering workers back into the office as experts indicate that the worst of the pandemic could be behind us.
For Google employees, most will come into the office three days a week. Additionally, all workers will either be required to show full vaccination or an approved exemption. Those who are unvaccinated with no exemption can either apply for an excuse or a remote working position.
Google workers that may not be ready to return to the office on April 4 can request a remote work extension.
In anticipation of this return, Google has reintroduced its well-known perks like free meals, massages, transit, and more.
