After a successful trial in August of 2021, Nike is once again closing its offices around the world for one week.
In May, the company announced that it would be temporarily closing its doors to give employees a chance to recuperate and focus on their wellbeing.
“If you’re looking for me next week, I’ll be enjoying some much-welcomed R&R and sunshine ☀️ with my family. Our global offices will be closed for Well-Being Week — which is quickly becoming one of my favorite Nike traditions,” Monique Matheson, chief human resources officer at Nike, posted on her LinkedIn.
Matheson added that by allowing everyone the same time period off, employees could “really unplug” without the fear of work piling up while they were out.
For this Well-Being Week, Nike has closed its global offices and its three Air MI (Air Manufacturing Innovation) locations. Retail and distribution center employees will be provided a week of paid Well-Being Days that can be used as they please.
In addition to giving employees the week off, Nike will continue to implement Summer Fridays until Labor Day in September, which allows workers to finish up their last day of the week at noon.
