Home Depot is introducing a new pay policy that aims to provide more fair wages.
Starting Jan. 16, employees will be paid based on their exact time punch, rather than “up or down to the nearest 15 minutes,” according to a spokesperson for the company.
The home improvement store has faced multiple lawsuits claiming that paychecks were being rounded down.
The new policy could serve as a lesson for other retailers, which historically suffer from high turnover rates. By putting forth an attempt to make wages fairer, talent may be more inclined to apply for positions.
