More Than 10% of South Korea’s Workforce Has Been Replaced By Robots

Germany ranks fourth with 429 robots per 10,000 employees, while Japan follows closely with 419 units. The United States is in 10th place with 295 robots per 10,000 employees.

A new report from the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) reveals that more than 10% of South Korea’s workforce has been replaced by robots, as the country continues to lead the world in robotic automation. South Korea has 1,012 robots per 10,000 employees, a figure that has grown by 5% annually since 2018.

Globally, the use of robots is on the rise, with Singapore following South Korea in robotic density, having 770 robots per 10,000 employees. China, now in third place with 470 robots per 10,000 employees, has surpassed both Germany and Japan in automation, according to Fox Business.

The European Union’s robot density is 219 units per 10,000 workers, marking a 5.2% increase from previous years. Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Slovenia are the top performers in Europe, while North America’s robot density stands at 197 robots per 10,000 employees, up by 4.2%.

Overall, Asia leads in robot adoption with a 7.6% increase, reaching 182 robots per 10,000 manufacturing employees, underscoring the region’s growing reliance on automation.
