A new survey from Palo Alto Networks shows that security measures are still not where they should be for the remote workforce.
The research, which was conducted by ONR, surveyed 3,000 technology executives and employees that work in information security, network operations, and application development.
According to the findings, 61% of companies stated they have faced challenges in providing employees with the security needed to work remotely. This was mainly caused by security being a lower priority as companies made the quick transition to remote work arrangements in response to the pandemic.
The survey also showed that 44% of employers focused on enhancing remote network access, but skimped on investments into remote security. 35% of companies stated investing into both, while 21% made few changes to either.
Even more, half of respondents stated that they have slacked on enforcing security policies due to budget restrictions, lacking the resources to do so, and having to focus on other remote work demands.
