A 2020 report from the World Economic Forum found that the number of jobs destroyed by technology will be surpassed by the number of jobs of tomorrow.
Estimates from the World Economic Forum predict that by 2025, 85 million jobs may be displaced by a shift in the division of labor between humans and machines. However, 97 million new roles will emerge that will be more in line with the jobs of tomorrow.
The report predicts that in the future, there will be an increased demand for data analysts and scientists, IT specialists, software and application developers, process automation specialists, and big data specialists.
In other words, technology will create new opportunities for skilled professionals across industries. For example, the property management sector is being impacted by the increased adoption of project management platforms, mobile apps, and digital communications.
As new roles are created, companies will need to prioritize the reskilling and upskilling of workers. In the IT sector, there will be an increased demand for cybersecurity experts to secure a company’s virtual presence.
