Gartner’s newest HR survey identifies how evolving workplace trends are expected to change HR leadership.
According to the survey of 850 HR leaders, there will be five focal points that will shape the incoming year: manager effectiveness, organizational design, employee experience, recruiting and the future of work.
One of the biggest challenges HR leaders expect to face inis developing the proper leadership needed for the future of work. In fact, 24% of respondents said that their current policies are not prepared to guide employees in the future of work.
Additionally, 53% of HR leaders agree that organizational design needs to be improved in order to address growing employee fatigue.
Similarly, 44% of HR leaders do not believe their company has a solid career path, which is why many are working to improve the employee experience.
“The key challenge for HR is they’re being pulled in lots of different directions at the moment,” said Arj Bagga, director of HR advisory at Gartner. “HR teams are trying to increase productivity, look at employee experience, organizational structure, hybrid work.”
“The main message I’d have for HR leaders is to be very selective with what you pick as your big bets for the next 12-24 months, align those directly to your business strategy and really get buy in from your leadership team that these are the key things that will help create a competitive advantage.”
