Spotify is telling employees to take a load off, again.
The audio streaming platform has announced that this week will be reserved for Spotify Wellness Week, giving workers a chance “to recharge, focus on themselves and do something that brings them joy.”
The week-long, paid break was introduced last year as the pressures of Covid-19 and inflation caused employee stress levels to skyrocket.
While there is no specific stipulation to what workers can do with their time off, Spotify is encouraging them to totally disconnect from work.
“Taking time out is not a magic potion that fixes underlying mental health issues, but looking after our people and giving them the space to take this kind of break is what being a true people-first organization is all about,” the company stated in an HR blog. “That’s why we’re doing it again this year.”
