Research has pointed to one absolute truth: demand for the four-day workweek is here to stay.
Along with the UK’s successful 4 Day Week Global pilot program that saw 88% of companies benefiting from a shorter week, another Canadian survey suggests that interest is at an all-time high.
According to the Robert Half report, which consists of two surveys conducted in the summer and fall of 2022, 91% of senior managers said they supported a shorter work week, while 69% anticipate making this pivot over the next five years.
One of the surveys, which took responses from over 1,100 professionals, found that the four-day work week was the number one wish for nearly one-quarter of workers.
Not only is this model ideal for employees, with 78% agreeing the transition would be simple, but it also gives companies an upper hand in terms of talent recruitment and employee retention.
