Workspace Group PLC (“Workspace”), home to New and Growing Companies across London, is delighted to announce that Caravan Restaurants (“Caravan”), the all-day restaurant, bar and in-house coffee roaster, will be opening a new restaurant at Metal Box Factory, Great Guilford Street, Bankside, SE1.
Set to open on 27th October 2016, Caravan is adding to its growing network of popular London restaurants with this new launch, its first spot south of the river. Founded by entrepreneurs Miles Kirby, Laura Harper-Hinton and Chris Ammermann, Caravan opened its first restaurant in 2010. This will be Caravan’s third restaurant, adding to its existing locations in Granary Square, Kings Cross and Exmouth Market, with the group known as much for its signature food, globally inspired menu and freshly roasted coffee, as for its vibrant, buzzy atmospheres and industrial-chic design.
A former metal box factory built in the late 19th century, Metal Box Factory is a landmark destination that hosts more than 150 growing businesses including Mozilla, the combined Moonpig and Photobox Group, Joseph Joseph, as well as the renowned Hixter restaurant. The building maintains its historical industrial features which are complemented by a striking atrium and enclosed rooftop terraces.
Chris Pieroni, Operations Director of Workspace, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Caravan to Metal Box Factory. As a great example of one of London’s New and Growing Companies, Caravan is a perfect fit for us and for our hub of creative customers. Bankside is fast becoming one of London’s most vibrant areas with a growing number of bars, restaurants and attractions, such as Tate Modern and Borough Market. Caravan has a fantastic reputation for creating food destinations, with a strong neighbourhood atmosphere and great food and coffee. I have no doubt that Caravan will be an instant hit with our customers, as well as others who live and work in the area.”

Miles’ ever-changing ‘well-travelled’ dishes draw inspiration from his foodie travels across the globe, yet remains rooted in a commitment to the best local and seasonal produce Caravan’s third site will open in Bankside this October, and the team will host one of the lead restaurants and this year’s Frieze London Art Fair. www.caravanrestaurants.co.uk
