Vincent Callebaut Architectures (VCA) is focusing on bringing a biophilic touch to its workplace with the new design for Soprema headquarters, Semaphore.
It will contain sustainable technology, such as solar power and greywater recycling, as well as a huge amount of greenery.
The company plans on showcasing many of their products, such as waterproofing and solar panels.
The office contains a large plaza complete with fitness, dining, and childcare services, as well as a real skeleton of a wooly mammoth on display.
The interior will contain meeting rooms and offices but will be flexible to encourage workers to find their ideal spot.
Along with the greenery and plentiful natural light, there will be large roof solar panels that produce electricity and hot water, 20 wind turbines, and a geothermal heating system. Rainwater collection and passive ventilation will also be implemented.
The project will also contain bike paths, walkways, and even a marina. Greenhouses will produce fresh fruit and vegetables as well.
Since the design was created as part of an international architecture competition, it is unclear whether Semaphore will be going forward.
