UK Four-Day Work Week Pilot Study Officially Begins (1)

Much has been written about the four-day work week in recent years, with both companies and governments experimenting with their own variation of this flexible workplace arrangement.

One of the most prominent studies to emerge from this interest has been a pilot study in the UK being overseen by 4 Day Week Global.

Today, the study officially begins, with over 3,000 UK employees being given the chance to experience and share their opinions on the four-day work week.

Over the last several months, the nonprofit has recruited over 70 companies across 30 industries to test out whether a shorter work week would be beneficial for their business.

The research is being managed by the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Boston College, and thinktank Autonomy.

“This is a historic day, as the lives of over 3,000 UK workers and their families are transformed by the pioneering, forward-thinking approach of their firms to embrace a new approach to how we organize work,” Joe O’Connor, CEO of 4 Day Week Global, wrote on LinkedIn.

“Britain is at the crest of a wave of global momentum behind reduced hour, output-focused working.”
