A recent survey from Archinect shows that just 29% of those within the architectural community said their employer is requiring them to return to the office.
The shift towards more flexibility and agility in the workplace is being felt across most industries, especially as workers reevaluate their priorities and reason with where work fits into the picture.
In fact, 66% of unemployed Americans said they were contemplating changing their entire career according to a Pew Research study from earlier this year.
Because of this need for more balance, new architectural trends are emerging to accommodate these demands. Companies like WeWork have made adjustments to their architecture, from how their workplaces are designed to incorporating new technology that helps operate these spaces.
This opens up more job opportunities for architects as companies are seeking new talent for their architectural endeavors. For instance, flexible workspace provider Industrious is currently seeking a Design Manager and Project Manager that would help maintain their coworking spaces.
Another firm called SoHo House has also posted various design and architecture-related positions on Archinect Jobs in Los Angeles and New York.
