Google’s “Year in Search” shows that inquiries into entrepreneurship beat out searches for “How to get a job” in 2021.
Although Google did not provide a specific number of how many times people searched “How to start a business,” this revelation indicates that people are still interested in entering the entrepreneurship world.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 400,000 new business applications were filed in November, showing that new business ventures are still elevated, albeit a bit lower than the all-time high seen in 2020.
Additionally, Google showed that “How to ask for a raise” was the top “How to ask” inquiry for 2021. In the U.S., searches for “job interview” throughout September of 2021 exceeded 2019 levels.
