A recent study by Yardi Matrix found that Regus and WeWork comprise 60% of all coworking space in the US’s 20 major markets. Speaking of major markets, Manhattan and Los Angeles take first and second place respectively with the most square footage dedicated to coworking spaces.
Women-Focused Coworking Spaces Take Over DC
Hera Hub, The Wing, Workafrolic, and Hatch are only some of the coworking brands that are catering to professional businesswomen in the DC area. Though men are also welcome to join, these spaces are predominantly used by women, and for good reason. According to members of these spaces, there are some “subtle differences in the way men and women use shared space;” like for example manspreading, which can turn away women from other shared workspace brands.
UK-Based BizSpace Expands Portfolio
UK-based flexible workspace provider, BizSpace announced this week that it invested over £2.5million in the acquisition and refurbishment of a new business centre, taking its UK North West Portfolio to 23 locations.
