Coworking operator Second Home will open its third location later this summer in East Hollywood. Co-founders Rohan Silva and Sam Aldenton explain that the company is unlike any other coworking firm on the market due to its diversity.
“We’re interested in incredible design and color but also curating a community,” said Silva. “But what’s different is that we’re all about diversity because diversity makes creativity stronger. We’re not curating for cool or for good looks. So if you’re a filmmaker, you might be working next to a refugee charity.”
Second Home serves as an incubator, coworking space, and social hub for members from various industries.
The newest location sits on 2-acres of land and offers a retro-digital, natural design by Madrid-based SelgasCano.
The company operates on a model where businesses can pay a monthly fee, providing them access to the collaborative workspaces. From there, companies can pay more per employee for access to private spaces.
Second Home also offers free use of space for some nonprofits and members in each space are based on a 20/80 policy, where 20% are blue-chip companies and 80% are startups and individual professionals.
