Australia-based Victory Offices has opened its first Hong Kong location on the 76th floor of the prestigious The Center skyscraper. The new location will span 25,000 square feet in the city’s main district.
The company’s first overseas location comes as Hong Kong’s economy gets closer to entering a recession due to numerous massive protests stemmed from political turmoil.
“We already committed to Hong Kong some six months back,” said Dan Baxter, CEO of Victory. “It’s not just that we entered Hong Kong this month – it takes six months to do a fit-out, to sort out the agreement, and at the time there was no unrest. Even though there’s political tension, business is going as usual.”
Recently, owners of individual floors at The Center began cutting rents as protests led companies to put a hold on their expansion plans.
Victory’s new location can accommodate up to 40 companies, and the firm is actively looking for new locations in the city.
