According to a new FlexJobs survey, workers are increasingly prioritizing the need for remote working opportunities.
In fact, the FlexJobs’ Work Insight 2022 Survey revealed that remote work was the second most important factor to compensation and benefit packages at 77%, following just behind salary at 83%.
Some of the remaining top compensations and benefits included:
- Flexible scheduling (63%)
- Health insurance (63%)
- Vacation time (62%)
- 401(K) and retirement (50%)
Of the 1,200 respondents, 57% said if they could not maintain remote working options at their current job, they would look for a new position.
However, despite the clear demand for remote working, 36% of respondents said their company will require them to return to the office full-time post-pandemic, while 28% expect a hybrid model and 23% anticipate full-time remote arrangement. The other 11% were still uncertain about their employers’ plans.
“We continue to see evidence that post-pandemic workers will not only expect but in many cases demand the ability to work remotely at least some of the time,” said Sara Sutton, founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “Placing remote work and flexible schedule options on par with or even above key benefits, such as health insurance and vacation time, speaks very loudly about what today’s workers truly value, and I hope companies are listening.”
