Workers Are Still Eager For Better Opportunities According To LinkedIn

Some experts have claimed 2023 will be the year where employees focus on job security, rather than striving for new workplace rights.

However, according to new data from LinkedIn’s consumer research, workers in the APAC are still ready to switch their jobs. In fact, 63% of workers in India and 43% in Australia and Singapore expressed increased confidence in landing a new job this year compared to last year.

“The confidence and optimism we see from professionals points to them demonstrating more resilience post-pandemic to tackle any impact that an uncertain environment may bring,” said Pooja Chhabria, career expert and head of editorial at LinkedIn, Asia-Pacific.

While recessionary fears suggest that professionals would take the safest route to keep their jobs secure, the pandemic has instilled a newfound confidence in the workforce, making them more resilient to all types of obstacles.

Plus, the fight for better workplace experiences continues to grow tenfold, with workers striving for more flexibility and better wages, particularly as the cost-of-living skyrockets.

“We believe what will continue to happen in 2023 is people wanting jobs where they have more freedom, or make more money or enjoy the work more — or, in some cases, all three,” said Chhabria.
